SingCham x BCCK Breakfast Workshop
 – Legal Perspectives: Dispute Resolution in Korea

SingCham Korea x BCCK Breakfast Workshop | SingCham Korea

We have successfully concluded our very first joint-organised breakfast workshop at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul with the British Chamber of Commerce in Korea (BCCK).

Even though it was an in-depth perspective on a specific part of law, audience turnout was higher than expected, bolstered by our stellar line of speakers.

As keynote speaker, we were honoured to have Lucy Reed, President of the Court of Arbitration of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

On our panel of speakers, we had other equally distinguished lawyers - Kevin Kim of Peter & Kim, John Kim and Arie Ernisse of Shin & Kim, and Andrew Raymond of Herbert Smith Freehills - talking about dispute resolution in Korea.

The topics were as follows:

  • Litigation vs Arbitration
  • Drafting Effective Dispute Resolution Clauses
  • An Overview of South Korean Courts and Procedures
  • Third Party Funding
  • Dispute Resolution Strategies

Our panel of speakers also fielded questions from a well-informed audience, touching on trends in arbitration, specific processes, and even the possibility of using technology for third party funding!

We would like to thank the speakers for the insightful session and also our audience for taking time to join us. A big thank you to BCCK for organising this event together with us and to Four Seasons Hotel for hosting the breakfast workshop.
