Topic: What will the Korean and Global Economy look like in 2024?
The global economy is currently facing a multi-faceted crisis. Although there has been a slowdown in interest rate hikes, concerns about a global recession persist. Moreover, challenges in various regions and supply chain instability are contributing to increased external uncertainties, which are imposing constraints on business operations.
Come join us as Dr. Chong Hoon Park, the head of Korea and Japan Economic Research for Standard Chartered Bank, discusses the economic outlook for the rest of the year and 2024.
As head of the Korea and Japan research team, Chong Hoon provides in-depth analysis of the Korean and Japan economy. He joined the Bank in 2009. Previously, Chong Hoon was head of telecom policy research at the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI), a government think tank, and head of corporate strategy and new business at SK Broadband (formerly Hanaro Telecom). Chong Hoon regularly appears in the media and speaks at corporate and public seminars. He has a BSc in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, an MBA from George Washington University, and a PhD in Economic Research international economics and development from Northwestern University.
